Cet hôtel de charme est situé sur l'île de Kri Island, au bord d'une longue plage de sable blanc. Les eaux cristallines qui entourent l'île sont réputées pour abriter une biodiversité impressionnante. Le Sorido Bay Resort est un véritable havre de paix, construit par des plongeurs et pensé pour les plongeurs, avec le souci d'impacter au minimum l'environnement. C’est le plus bel hôtel du Nord de Raja Ampat.

L’hôtel

Le Sorido Bay Resort est une superbe adresse de charme nichée dans un jardin tropical, qui offre un service haut de gamme, et des plongées exceptionnelles. La jungle environnante abrite une grande concentration d’oiseaux.

Tout a été construit avec des matériaux locaux, dans la pure tradition indonésienne, afin d'apporter un confort maximum aux plongeurs.
Il est situé sur l’île de Kri Island, et géré par Papua Diving qui dirige aussi le Kri Eco Resort depuis plus de 20 ans. Les deux hôtels sont sur la même île, mais pas la même plage.
Il est très proche des sites de plongée très populaires de Raja Ampat, et pour cause, ces deux hôtels ont longtemps été les seuls sur la zone. C’est Papua Diving qui a découvert la majorité des sites, dont le Cape Kri où 374 espèces ont été répertoriées en une seule plongée.

Le Sorido Bay Resort est une superbe adresse de référence en Indonésie. Une parfaite alliance du chic, du rustique, du moderne et de l’authentique !

Chambres

Le Sorido Bay Resort est équipé de 7 bungalows qui se déclinent en 2 catégories : 5 Cottages Sentani et 2Cottages Kaimana.
Les Cottages Sentani disposent d’une chambre et offrent 60 m2 d’espace de vie, alors que les Cottages Kaimana offre 90 m2 et la possibilité de loger 4 personnes avec un salon transformable en chambre.

Ils sont tous très confortables, avec minibar, réfrigérateur, coffre-fort, télévision écran plat, Wi-Fi et air conditionné. Tous sont équipés de lits king-size avec une moustiquaire, et d’une grande terrasse privée. La décoration est très raffinée, tous les meubles et les intérieurs sont en bois, avec des voilages blancs ou bruns. Chaque bungalow possède un endroit spécifique pour entreposer le matériel de plongée. Ils sont disséminés dans le jardin tropical, et offrent une vue magnifique sur le lagon.

Activités et services

La table

Sorido Bay Resort offre un seul restaurant situé dans le bâtiment principal. Les plats sont élaborés avec des produits frais et locaux, et vous aimerez déguster cette cuisine traditionnelle et savoureuse, tout en admirant la vue spectaculaire sur le lagon et son « house-reef ». C’est au même endroit que se trouvent le bar et le lounge.

Activités

L’hôtel organise des sorties en kayak et des treks dans la jungle pour l’observation des oiseaux. L’activité principale est la plongée, le snorkeling, le repos et la contemplation de cet environnement exceptionnel.

Services

L’hôtel dispose d’une belle bibliothèque avec de nombreux livres sur la faune et la flore de Raja Ampat.
Une pièce spéciale photographes est à la disposition des clients avec 2 ordinateurs, ainsi qu’une boutique avec de l’artisanat local.

Snorkeling et plongée

Le snorkeling est accessible sur le « house-reef » Cap Kri. Ce site se trouve à 3 minutes de bateau. Actuellement c’est le site de plongée qui a répertorié le plus d’espèces sous-marines au monde : 374 espèces en une plongée.
Les sites de plongée et de snorkeling sont très nombreux, tout autour de l’île.

Le centre de plongée Papua Diving est intégré aux hôtels Kri Eco Resort et Sorido Bay. Il a été fondé par Max Hammer, dans les années 90. Il est tombé amoureux de cette région et de ses habitants. Il a fondé Papua Diving pour permettre aux plongeurs de découvrir les fonds sous-marins exceptionnels, mais aussi pour permettre aux Papous de vivre du tourisme. La majorité des sites ont été découverts par Max et son équipe. Les anciens pêcheurs sont devenus plongeurs, et ont pris conscience que la richesse de la région était fragile ! Les plongées sont évidemment très bien organisées. Papua Diving offre le Nitrox à tous les plongeurs certifiés.

A payer sur place: les taxes de Parc Marin (1 000 000 IDR, environ 70 USD par personne).

Le centre de plongée est fermé du vendredi 18 h 00 au samedi 18 h 00

Attention : pour moins de stress, nous vous conseillons de passer une nuit à Jakarta.

Excellent resort disposant de seulement 7 chambres soit un maximum de 18 personnes. Absolument pas une usine à plongée. C'est exactement ce qu'on recherche

Le + : 6h avec les mantas océaniques et de récifs en 5 plongées !

Le - : Pas de bol une marée verte est arrivée (rare) et la visibilité a été réduite à 5 à 7 mètres dans une ambiance un peu Bretagne les 3 derniers jours (mais avec eau chaude !)
